Holier Than Thou: The Holy Land of the Religious Settler Movement
Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem remain at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through years of immersion among settlers and Palestinians, this project explores the motivations, beliefs, and tensions that fuel this complex reality. It highlights the deep attachment to the land, the political support given to the settlement movement, and the opposing perceptions of the two communities regarding the legitimacy of these territories.
The series also examines the human consequences of this situation, marked by violence, displacement, and reprisals between settlers, Palestinians, and Israeli security forces. By documenting the daily lives of those living at the heart of this conflict, the project invites a deeper understanding of the ideological, political, and social mechanisms that perpetuate one of the most sensitive issues in the Middle East.
Kobi Wolf
Israeli Kobi Wolf is a Tel-Aviv based photojournalist with global reach. For over 20 years, he has documented social, political, and humanitarian realities in Israel, the Middle East, and beyond. His work focuses on conflict, identity, and resilience through human stories. His rigorous approach aims to provide keys to understanding and to reveal the complexity of communities.
