Press photography plays a crucial role in regions. Photographers become the eyes of the readers, the privileged witnesses of daily current affairs. Local information is of the utmost importance. It is essential for democracy. Current affairs are as important in a village, a region as in major urban centres. Zoom Photo Festival honors these photographers in offering you two exhibitions showcasing the work of photojournalists outside major urban centres.
Images caught during last year’s spring floods are presented by photographers of the Droit d’Ottawa. Photographers of the Quotidien du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean offer a selection from year 2019.
