The Frontier 31/10/2020 – 14/12/2020

October 30, 2020… Beginning of the second period of general sanitary confinement in France. Like everyone else, I will have to stay at home and find myself stranded in Paris, where I live. By strictly complying with the common instructions, I envision documentary photographic work carried out only on the perimeter limit of one kilometer around my home – and for the legal duration of one hour of authorized exit.
Transform this constraint into an opportunity, act rather than suffer.
I imagine a particular system of shooting and each day, provided with my certificate of exceptional displacement, I will go to visit a place of the limits of my territory.
It is this Frontier that I am going to discover. What is there to see on this line, which I normally cross without being aware of?
This Frontier revealed, I will survey it daily throughout this period, photograph it, then on my return, note on a map the exact locations of the shots.
Here, along this theoretical, but ultimately very real, dividing line, I have tried to make interesting places, situations, that would not have caught my attention in a normal period.
Non-existent on a daily basis, they are revealed by the existence of the Frontier.
